First Step Children's Center has been providing integrated childcare for over 20 years in the East Bay. We have caring and qualified staff that is trained to provide Individualized Activity Based Curriculum for children with and without special needs. Using an interactive approach, the plan addresses language, cognitive motor skills, gross motor skills, social-emotional needs and self-help skills.

Our goal is to increase the quality of life and to enable each child to learn and develop to his or her maximum potential. By totally integrating children with special needs and non-disabled children, our emphasis is to promote the development of a non-biased value system.Child initiated activities are also encouraged to provide the opportunity for your child to make choices, decisions and build on leadership skills.

First Step Children's Center feels it is important to provide quality daycare services that work within the families principles. In providing a comprehensive program for your child, not only are the development needs of the child considered, but also the cultural, linguitics, and family dynamics. We care what parents want for their children, therefore we feel working as a partnership is beneficial.
